I was always amazed at how many folks brought in expired coupons, and some I remember them giving me were months and months old. We had a horrible floor manager that would overwrite what other managers were telling us and have us take the old coupons just to make the customer happy. Well not only did that put us in a bad spot for other customers to try to use bad coupons, but it put us in a bad spot with the Cash Office cause they couldn’t get any value from the coupons since they had expired. Comp ads are sometimes just as frustrating.
My store has a pretty liberal policy when it comes to coupons. we send new ones out just about every week so we figure one is just as good as another, plus if a customer tells us they forgot their’s at home we will typically give them the discount.

I got away with using expired coupons. Was at one of those self service registers. Machine could care less about the date.
