I remember working at K-mart on a Black Friday. There was a line started, I “manned” my register and then on announcement the manager said “ready or not, here they come.” The people rushed in and It reminded me of the running of the bulls. One “bull” even spilled going around the corner. Good Luck to all those who have to work today!
Well I woke up at 3am was to work by 4am and now I have successfully survived Black Friday!!! It really wasn’t that bad, at times I might have actually had a little fun too. Hope everyone else’s day when as smoothly.
This was my second Black Friday in retail. My first one I worked the p.m. shift. It wasn’t to bad. Today it was 4:30 a.m.. That was wild, but it died down after about a hour or so.
Had fun messing with my fellow co-workers. Was the one who came in greeting everyone with “HAPPY BLACK FRIDAY!!!”…. got a few icy glares and two chuckles.
Back in 1998 I worked at a K-mart and was in the same situation as Adam. I eventually flashed my name-tag and red vest from under coat to prove to the mob that I wasn’t a line jumper but an employee.
I remember the manager of our store making the announcement and watching from Garden/Christmas as a mass of people filled all the aisles and rushed towards me, luckily most of them went to my left towards electronics and toys.
