Retail is a tough business to have a holiday party. Everyone is always working different hours so it’s next to impossible to schedule a time when everyone can participate unless its really late in the evening after you’ve closed. Two outa the three retail companies I’ve worked for have thrown holiday parties. One was pre Black Friday, we closed early and had a holiday meeting followed by a party in the store. At my current job it’s always late January early February depending on when inventory is. We used to go out but due to people taking advantage it’s now become an all day catered meal in the break room. They stuff us full of food and then send us right back to work. But yeah typically it’s after all of the seasonal hires have been let go.
Not a single retail job I worked at has ever thrown a holiday party.
That’s now the best way to show appreciation – party without them.
My teen must appreciate me.
