Those were like padded boxing gloves in comparison with what's out, "today". Now, in light of the latest X Men movie, we have the (what kind of sense did a developer have for these???) Wolverine (electronic) extendable claws. (!!!) Now, the kids can't just punch, they can punch AND stab. I don't care how dull a plastic it might use, this item screams of "recall" after some damage occurs. It's kind of like watching water drip through the inside of a ship's hull...and knowing the drip will probably upgrade to a slight mister...
